Abstract:
The purpose of this invention is to ensure gas-liquid separation in a cooling apparatus. A cooling apparatus according to the present invention comprises a cooling cycle comprising an evaporator (1) that transfers heat to be cooled to a coolant, a compressor (2) that compresses the coolant to which heat was transferred by the evaporator (1), a condenser (3) that releases heat from the coolant compressed by the compressor (2), and an expansion unit (4) that expands the coolant from which heat was released by the condenser (3), in which the coolant expanded in the expansion unit (4) is circulated to the evaporator (1), said cooling apparatus further comprising a first gas-liquid separation tank (5) that separates the coolant condensed in the condenser (3) into a gas phase and a liquid phase in the flow path between the condenser (3) and the expansion unit (4), a second gas-liquid separation tank (6) that separates the coolant that has traversed the expansion unit (4) into a gas phase and a liquid phase in the flow path between the expansion unit (4) and the evaporator (1), and a control unit (7) that controls the liquid level in the second gas-liquid separation tank (6) to a prescribed height.
