Description:
Cosmetic composition

The subject of the invention is a cosmetic composition containing graphene as a bactericide and as the carrier for the molecules contained in cosmetics.

Patent application of the invention CN106038324 presents a facial mask with graphene. The invention discloses a preparation method of a facial mask containing a graphene material, and in particular relates to a preparation method of a heating facial mask taking the graphene material as a main body. The facial mask comprises at least three layers, respectively a resin cushion, a graphene heating layer and a resin cushion from outside to inside. As a result of utilizing the properties that a graphene film is moderate in electrical resistivity, extremely high in thermal conductivity, excellent in heat stability, and easy to process and form, the prepared heating facial mask is soft and thin, and also has very high working stability, the heating temperature and time are controllable, and the heating facial mask can be repeatedly used, therefore, the use cost of a user is greatly reduced, and the market competitiveness of the heating facial mask is improved.

Patent application CN106667848 presents a facial tonic. In its mass the tonic contains 10,1-31,5% moisturizing agent, 0,5-5% vegetable extract, 0,5-5% graphene quantum dots, 0,4-0, 8% thickening agent, 0,4-0, 8% emulsifying agent and 0,01-0,1% disodium EDTA. The tonic has this advantage that the graphene quantum dots with excellent absorptive characteristics and increased penetrative properties are able to absorb dirt and various toxic substances on the skin surface by penetrating the moisturizing agent and the plant extract on the epidermis thus directing the nutritious substances contained in the tonic into the skin.

Patent application KR20170106062 presents a composition containing graphene for a sunscreen cream. The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition for sunscreening having sunscreening ability higher than that of a conventional organic/inorganic sunscreen which is used alone, by using graphene together with a conventional sunscreen. The present invention provides a cosmetic composition for sunscreening which contains graphene alone as an active ingredient, or contains an inorganic sunscreen or an organic sunscreen together with graphene.

Collagen is known to be used in cosmetics. Collagen is one of the most important proteins present in almost all types of human tissue. It is the basic part of the fibrous connective tissue and is a significant element of the skin. Collagen is the main component of the extracellular matrix, the scaffold for the internal organs, it is responsible for maintaining strength, tenacity and elasticity of the connective tissue, it also has an extraordinary ability to bond water. The structure of collagen constitutes the framework of the connective tissue, which supports the higher layers of skin. It is thanks to collagen that skin maintains appropriate elasticity and tension. It is thanks to its properties that collagen has become a significant component of cosmetics. It regenerates, moisturizes and smooths the skin and thus effectively fights the skin aging process.

Graphene is a single-layer flat structure made up of carbon atoms connected to form hexagons. It has a single-atom thickness, as a simplification it is described as a two- dimensional structure. Because of the instability of such a coating, more stable graphene derivatives have become significant is science such as graphene oxide or reduced graphene oxide. According to research performed in both domestic and foreign microbiological centres, graphene oxide displays some anti-bacterial activity. The presence of graphene flakes in the bacteria growing environment partly reduces the number of bacteria. The effectiveness of the graphene oxide flakes in reducing the growth of bacteria depends on the medium in which the test is done, the concentration of graphene flakes, the graphene derivative used in the test [graphene oxide or reduced graphene oxide] as well as the strain, species or type of bacteria used to determine the anti-bacterial activity of the graphene preparations.

Unexpectedly it turned out that this anti-bacterial property of graphene oxide may be used to remove bacteria found on the human skin, as part of the cosmetic composition.

A significant problem is using the appropriate composition and quantity of graphene so as to achieve the widest possible anti-bacterial activity regardless of the other components of the cosmetic. Unexpectedly it turned out that the selected quantity and quality of graphene oxides according to the invention make it possible to create a number of different stable products, which do not undergo degradation in time, are durable, resistant to light and temperature while retaining the activity of their active substances and not interfering with their performance. At the same time it was demonstrated that the nanomolecules of graphene oxides are capable of transferring the elements of cosmetic substances into the skin.

The cosmetic composition for external use in particular in the form of creams, ointments, emulsions, liquids, gels, capsules, pastes, sticks, powders and possibly homogenized and/or mixed with other additives commonly used in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industry according to the invention is characteristic in that it contains graphene oxide or reduced graphene oxide in the amount ranging from 0,5 mg to 5 mg per 5 ml to 50 ml of the solution.

Alternatively the composition contains graphene oxide or reduced graphene oxide 0,5 mg - 5 mg in 5 ml to 50 ml of the substance.

Favourably the composition contains from 0,5 mg to 5 mg of graphene oxide or reduced graphene oxide in collagen from 1 ml to 50 ml of collagen.

Favourably the collagen in the composition is of porcine, bovine, calf or marine origin. Favourably, the composition contains hyaluronic acid.

Favourably, the composition in the form of a cream or emulsion contains a fat phase, vegetable, mineral oils, wax, water phase and emulsifiers, stabilizers, preservatives, aromatic compositions, emulsified and/or homogenized using a known method.

Favourably, the composition in the form of a liquid favourably contains nutritious or moisturizing substances, oils, alcohols, preservative substances, aromatic substances, water and the whole composition is mixed using one of the known methods.

Favourable the composition in the form of a lipstick favourably contains waxes, oils, nutritious and aromatic substances, preservatives and possibly colorants, which are mixed using one of the known methods. Favourably, the composition in the form of a gel favourably contains thickening agents, gelling agents, nutritious and greasing substances, alcohol, preservatives, an aromatic composition, manufactured using one of the known methods.

Favourably, the composition in the form of a capsule contains an oil fraction encapsulated using one of the known methods.

Favourably, the composition in the form of a powder contains a dry extract of aronia and favourably flour or talc, disinfecting substances produced and packaged using a known method.

A significant advantage of the invention is using the anti-bacterial effect of graphene regardless of the cosmetic composition. The cosmetic composition with graphene is applicable in particular in cases where it is important to achieve the antibacterial effect. At the same time the effect of the nanomolecules of graphene oxide being able to transfer the elements of cosmetic substances into the skin were demonstrated, which significantly improves the effectiveness of the cosmetics.

One embodiment of the composition may be a shampoo and other liquids for washing hair containing graphene oxide e.g. for removing dandruff. Another embodiment is a graphene-and-collagen facial mask or a liquid containing graphene for removing acne or a bacterial skin inflammation.

The presented embodiment does not exhaust all possibilities of the invention's application.
