Abstract:
A crime-preventing operating device for elevators capable of preventing potentially dangerous tailgating, wherein: a lone rider is detected and the elevator car call is registered; following initiation of door closing, if a person is detected entering a first area, which is larger than a second area and defined so as to surround the second area defined adjacent to the door of an elevator car, the walking speed of the person is measured and the door-closing speed is controlled so as to be a first speed which exceeds the normal speed if said walking speed of the person in the first area equals or exceeds the speed at which an abnormality is detected; and furthermore, if the person is detected entering the second area, the walking speed of the person is measured and an output signal is generated to control the door-closing speed so as to be a second speed exceeding the first speed if said walking speed of the person in the second area equals or exceeds the speed at which an abnormality is detected.
