Abstract:
[Problem] To enable a desired electric power to be generated even if the electric current flowing through a power transmission line is small, and to prevent the generation of surplus electric power, as far as possible, when the current is large. [Solution] A current transformer 10A is provided with: a magnetic core 11 capable of being attached to a power transmission line 2; an electricity generating coil 12 and a free coil 13 which are wound onto the magnetic core 11; a switch circuit 14 connected between the two ends of the free coil 13; and a switch control unit 15 which controls the switch circuit 14 on the basis of a voltage that appears between the two ends of the electricity generating coil 12. As a result, magnetic flux φ1 generated in the magnetic core 11 by means of the current flowing through the power transmission line 2 is decreased by the free coil 13. Further, if the current flowing through the power transmission line 2 is small, the free coil 13 can be disabled by means of the switch circuit 14.
