The present application relates to the field of battery manufacturing, and relates to a cutter apparatus and a material strip cutting method. The present application provides a cutter apparatus, comprising: a first cutter; and an adjusting mechanism, for adjusting the position of the first cutter, the adjusting mechanism comprising a screw and an adjusting member, the adjusting member sleeving the screw and being in threaded fit with the screw, and the adjusting member and the first cutter being in wedge-shaped fit by means of a pair of matching surfaces. The screw is configured to rotate to drive the adjusting member to move in the axial direction of the screw, so that the adjusting member pushes the first cutter to move in a first direction, and the first direction is perpendicular to the axial direction of the screw. The present application further provides a material strip cutting method, which uses the cutter apparatus. The cutter apparatus can adjust the cutter spacing, and the cutter apparatus is used to cut the material strip, and has high cutting precision, thereby improving the cutting quality of the material strip.
