Abstract:
A control unit 20 uses detection information from a contact sensor or uses time series data for detection values relating to a drive motor included in a rotary mechanism 8 and/or a feed mechanism 7 to acquire a coordinate value indicating where a cutting tool 11 has come into contact with a material to be cut 6 or a component. The control unit 20 determines the relative position relationship between the cutting tool 11 and the center of rotation of the material to be cut 6 on the basis of the coordinate values indicating where the cutting tool 11 has made contact in at least two positions that differ from the rotation angle position of the cutting tool 11 during lathe turning, said positions being on the material to be cut 6 after said lathe turning or on a reference surface of the material to be cut 6 for which the relative position relationship between the tool and the center of rotation is already known.
