Abstract:
The threading cutting insert (1) according to the present invention is provided with two opposite end faces (2, 3) and a circumferential side surface (4) extending between same. The circumferential side surface has a first side surface portion (7a) and a second side surface portion (8) disposed in different positions in the circumferential direction. A cutting edge (5) is formed at the intersection ridge of the first end face (2) with the first side surface portion (7a) and at least a portion of said cutting edge has a shape corresponding to thread grooves. The second side surface portion has a sloped section (8a) that spreads outward from the first end face (2) side toward the second end face (3) side. Said sloped section (8a) is configured so as to engage with the side wall surface (25) of the tool body (22) and prevent lifting of the cutting insert (1).
