Abstract:
The cutting insert of an embodiment is provided with: corners; an upper surface having a pair of sides respectively adjacent to the corners; a lower surface; side surfaces located between the upper surface and the lower surface; and corner cutting edges provided at the corners. The upper surface has: first rake faces located along the corner edges; raised sections located inside the first rake faces; and second rake faces located between the corner edges and the raised sections. The rake angle of a second rake face in a first region which corresponds to the center of a corner edge is greater than the rake angle of second rake faces in second regions located to the sides of the first region.
