Abstract:
The present invention provides: a resin modifier that is used for a polycarbonate resin or a polyester carbonate resin; a resin using the resin modifier; and a use application of the resin. The present invention also provides: a cyclic diol compound that is useful as a resin modifier and a raw material for a polycarbonate resin, a polyester carbonate resin and the like; and a method for producing the cyclic diol compound. The present invention relates to: a resin modifier for a polycarbonate resin or a polyester polycarbonate resin, the resin modifier comprising a compound represented by formula (1); a resin using the resin modifier; and a use application of the resin. [In the formula, R1's are the same as or different from each other and each independently represent a hydrogen atom, a C1-4 alkyl group, or a phenyl group; and X represents a direct bond or a bivalent group represented by formula (Y) [wherein R2 and R3 are the same as or different from each other and independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an aryl group, or R2 and R3 may be bonded to each other to form a ring in conjunction with a carbon atom to which these residues are adjacent, in which the ring may be substituted by an alkyl group; n represents 0 or 1; and * indicates a bonding position].]
