Abstract:
A ball bearing (100) comprises an inner ring (10), an outer ring (20), and a ball (30). At least one bearing part among the inner ring, the outer ring, and the ball has contact surfaces (10da, 20ca, 30a). The bearing parts are made of steel that has undergone quenching and tempering. The steel contains 0.90-1.20 mass% of carbon, 0.35-0.80 mass% of silicon, 0.80-1.20 mass% of manganese, less than 0.30 mass% of nickel, 0.80-1.30 mass% of chrome, and less than 0.10 mass% of molybdenum, with the balance being iron and unavoidable impurities. The value obtained by dividing the silicon concentration in the steel by the manganese concentration is less than 0.51.
