Abstract:
A data collection and transfer device in an embodiment of the present invention is provided with the following: memory; a buffer having a large memory capacity and slow data storage speed; a collection unit that collects data and stores the same in memory; a transfer unit that transfers the data stored in memory to a server; a monitoring unit that monitors the network; and a configuration unit that maintains collection data configuration memory, collection cycle configuration memory, transfer cycle configuration memory, buffer data configuration memory and buffer cycle configuration memory. In a case where no failure is detected, the collection unit collects and stores in memory data specified by the collection data configuration memory, at a cycle specified by the collection cycle configuration memory, and the transfer unit transfers data stored in memory to the server at a cycle specified by the transfer cycle configuration memory. In a case where a failure is detected, the collection unit collects and stores in memory data specified by the buffer data configuration memory at a cycle specified by the buffer cycle configuration memory, and stores the data stored in memory in the buffer at a cycle specified by the buffer cycle configuration memory.
