Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a data processing apparatus, a reception apparatus, a data processing method and a program whereby the quality degradation during reproduction of data can be suppressed. Packet selection units each select, from a multiplexed stream in which a plurality of service streams have been multiplexed, the packets constituting the respective service stream, thereby generating a respective single service stream. Insertion units insert, into unused areas having occurred when a predetermined number of packet selection units each generated the single service stream, null packets with time information in which predetermined time information has been added to the payloads. In the streams as demultiplexed after these streams were multiplexed, the timings to output the null packets with time information are adjusted with reference to the time information added to the null packets with time information. The present technique can be applied to, for example, a reception apparatus that can receive a plurality of streams.
