Abstract:
Provided are a data processing device and method. The data processing device may be used for calculating matrix C = matrix A x matrix B, wherein matrix A is a m1×n matrix, and matrix b is a n×m2 matrix. The data processing device comprises k multiply–accumulate units and a control unit. The control unit is used for executing the following operations: controlling the k multiply–accumulate units to sequentially execute a multiplication operation k times in correspondence with an ith column element among s row elements and an ith row elements among t column elements during the process of calculating the values of k target elements in matrix C according to the s row elements in matrix A and the t column elements in matrix B, wherein k＝s×t, 0≤i＜n. Since the number of multiplication operations corresponding to the ith column element among the s row elements in matrix A and the ith row element among the t column elements in matrix B is exactly equal to k, the k multiply–accumulate units may be 100% used every time during the process of calculating the values of k target elements.
