Abstract:
A data provision system that comprises: a data provision device; and a data security device that is installed in a vehicle. The data provision device comprises: a vehicle interface that transmits/receives data to/from the vehicle; and an encryption processing unit that uses a secret key for the data provision device to generate an electronic signature for application data that is to be applied by an on-board computer that is installed in the vehicle. The data provision device transmits electronically-signed application data, which is the application data with the electronic signature attached thereto, to the vehicle by means of the vehicle interface. The data security device comprises: an interface unit that transmits/receives data to/from a device that is external to the data security device; and an encryption processing unit that uses an open key for the data provision device to verify the electronic signature of the electronically-signed application data as received from the data provision device by means of the interface unit. The data security device transmits application data for which the electronic signature has been successfully verified to the on-board computer by means of the interface unit.
