Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide a data recovery method and apparatus. After a data recovery request is received, according to a deduplication index corresponding to metadata of each data fragment in backup data, all metadata corresponding to each deduplication index is confirmed; then, after a data fragment stored in a storage device and pointed to by the deduplication index is acquired, the data fragment is stored to distribution locations described by all the metadata corresponding to the deduplication index. In the embodiments of the present invention, for recovery of multiple data fragments having the same data content and corresponding to the same deduplication index, frequent access to the storage device to acquire the data fragments, which are stored in the storage device and pointed to by the deduplication index, for multiple times is avoided. In this way, the service life of the storage device is prolonged, the burden of communication with the storage device is reduced, and the data recovery efficiency is improved.
