Abstract:
Provided are: a decalin derivative having a glycidyloxy group or an allyloxy group; and a method for producing the decalin derivative. A decalin derivative represented by formula (1) is produced by: a method comprising reacting a hydroxydecalin compound represented by formula (2) with an allyl halide in the presence of a phase transfer catalyst and a basic substance to prepare an (allyloxy)decalin derivative represented by formula (1-1); or a method comprising reacting the (allyloxy)decalin derivative, hydrogen peroxide and a nitrile compound represented by formula R1-C≡N (wherein R1 represents a C1-6 alkyl group or a phenyl group which may have a substituent) together while maintaining the pH value of the reaction solution at 9 to 11 using a basic substance to prepare a (glycidyloxy)decalin derivative represented by formula (1-2). (In the formulae, R represents a vinyl group or an epoxy group; and n represents 1 or 2.) The decalin derivative represented by formula (1) is useful as a raw material or an intermediate for use in various organic synthetic chemical fields, an epoxy compound or a monomer for an epoxy compound.
