Description:
DESCRIPTION

A DETACHABLE RING FOR URINARY CATHETERS

Our invention is a detachable ring for urinary catheters included in the urinary catheter structure and used during catheterization in urinary catheters.

In prior art, there exist rings that can be used in urinary catheters. Mentioned ring designs were positioned inside the urinary catheter structure, integrated on top of the catheter. Ring positioned on top of the catheter was able to move freely on the surface of the catheter back and forth but could not be separated from the catheter. Since the ring could not be separated from the catheter, the part of the ring placed inside the catheter structure could not be used for catheterization and therefore the whole length of the catheter could not be utilized during catheterization. Also, currently used ring designs were fixed and could not be detached from the catheter causing contamination in the hands of user by the drops of urine on the ring when catheter was drawn back.

The ring designs in the prior art includes rings that were manufactured by non-rigid materials. Therefore, on the first entrance of the catheter to urethra an inflection was occurring which was complicating the usage.

DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

Our invention of detachable ring for urinary catheters is preferably manufactured from silicon and its derivatives. Silicon material, by the virtue of its structure, can slide on the urinary catheter easily, therefore it will ease the catheterization procedure.

Our invention of detachable ring for urinary catheters prevents the inflection on the first entrance of the catheter to urethra and eases the installation of urinary catheter due to its rigid structure. Also, rigidness of the ring (1) structure provides advantages for the user during the catheterization. Rigid ring (1) structure provides support to urinary catheter and prevents the inflection during the catheterization. Therefore, a safer catheterization will be provided. In addition to these, as the rigidness of the structure of the ring (1) provides the adequate support to the structure, the catheterization can be even performed with two fingers. People without enough strength in fingers or having no thumb can clench the rigid ring (1) between two fingers and do the catheterization also by this way.

Structure of some models of our invention includes integrated forceps structure. Thus, even users who can not use their fingers can also do the catheterization.

Our invention of detachable ring for urinary catheters can be installed and uninstalled to urinary catheter. In this way, users who do not want to use the ring (1) after entering to urethra can detach the ring (1) from urinary catheter. By the detaching feature of the ring (1) from urinary catheter, ring (1) can be detached after catheterization and full length of the urinary catheter can be used by the user in case it is needed.

Our invention of a detachable ring for urinary catheters can be detached from urinary catheter. Therefore, the problem of contamination in the hands of user by the drops of urine on the ring (1) from urethra especially when catheter was drawn back in the end of catheterization is resolved .

Our invention of a detachable ring for urinary catheters provides flow of urine directly from the connector by the virtue of its structure. By this, erroneous flow and splash of urine is prevented.

Our invention of a detachable ring for urinary catheters is preferably manufactured from silicon and its derivatives. Preferably, the ring (1) is mounted on the urinary catheter before the procedure. Manuel repulsion is administered to ring (1) for application of urinary catheter to patient's urethra, therefore urinary catheter having the ring (1) wrapped is moved forward. Therefore, catheterization is enabled and the ring (1) on the top of the urinary catheter is pulled from one end and the ring (1) detached from urinary catheter at the end of the procedure. Our invention of a detachable ring for urinary catheters can be designed according to 3 embodiments. First example of these embodiments is spiral ring. Spiral ring is designed as a cylindrical structure. Spiral ring is formed by bending a rectangular silicon plate into a cylindrical form. Thus, catheter can move back and forth in internal space (2) through the surface of the catheter and can be taken out of the interspace (3) by pulling if necessary. Another embodiment of our invention is cylindrical latch ring. Cylindrical latch ring includes a cylindrical catheter groove (4) and latch flaps (5) providing the back and forth free movement of catheter in its structure. While moving the ring back and forth through the cylindrical catheter groove (4) the user can pull the ring from space between latch flaps (5) and detach from the urinary catheter if necessary.

Another embodiment of our invention is gear latch ring. Gear latch ring is designed as a cylindrical latch. One end of the cylindrical latch is left empty for pulling and taking out from urinary catheter. In this way, ring can be easily detached from urinary catheter. Gear latch ring is formed by junction of two spring arm (7) in the structure of spring on one end keeping an opening oh the other end. Spring arms (6) of gear latch ring is designed as notched in the interior surface.

Our invention of a detachable ring for urinary catheters is preferably manufactured from silicon and its derivatives and preferably produced in rigid structure. It can be manufactured from other polymer materials other than silicon if requested. Similarly rigid structure can be formed by the use of silicon material, various additives to silicon material and other polymer forms different from silicon .can provide flexible or elastic ring structure.
