Abstract:
A device control system for controlling a device 1 from a terminal via a network 6, the purpose of the device control system being to obtain a device control system with which it is possible to stop operation of a device to be controlled regardless of the specification on the system side, even if communication is disrupted while operating the device to be controlled with an operation terminal outside a home. The device control system is provided with a server 5 connected to the network 6, and a management device 2 for monitoring the device 1 inside the home. The management device 2 reports, to the device 1, disruption state information indicating that communication with the server 5 is in a disrupted state from the point when periodic communication with the server 5 is not possible during the period when the management device 2 is communicating with a terminal 7 outside the home via the server 5; and the device 1 monitors the continuity of the disruption state, stops the device 1 after the disruption state has exceeded a fixed amount of time, and enables switching the initial value of the disruption state information.
