Abstract:

This invention pertains to a device for detecting the magnetic pole position of a permanent magnet-type synchronous motor, the device detecting the amount of deviation between the origin of the magnetic pole position of a permanent magnet constituting the rotor of the permanent magnet-type synchronous motor and the origin of an output signal from a magnetic pole position sensor by a current pull-in action, correcting the output signal from the magnetic pole position sensor according to the amount of deviation, and detecting the true magnetic pole position. This invention is provided with: a pull-in current calculation unit (101) for calculating the phase current (Ia) at which Ia <Ψa/(Lq-Ld), where Ψa is the effective value of an armature interlinkage magnetic flux of the permanent magnet per phase of the motor, Ld is the d-axis inductance in the imaginary magnetic flux axis direction, and Lq is the q-axis inductance in the direction orthogonal to the magnetic flux axis direction; and an Id calculation unit (104a) for calculating the d-axis current from the phase current (Ia). The d-axis current is passed through an armature winding of the motor, and the rotor is pulled in along the magnetic flux axis direction, whereby the current pull-in action is performed.
