Abstract:
This device inference apparatus acquires one or more DNS queries transmitted from each device connected to a network and generates comparison source data for the details of each acquired DNS query, the comparison source data associating one or more pieces of attribute information for each of the one or more devices transmitting the DNS queries with said details. Thereafter, upon acquiring one or more DNS queries from devices on which inference is to be performed, the device inference apparatus reads out for each DNS query the one or more pieces of device attribute information associated with the details of said DNS query from the comparison source data and uses the read attribute information to infer an attribute of the device on which inference is being performed.
