Abstract:
The present invention concerns a turbo pump that acts on a liquid and relates to a device and a method whereby a cavitation surge, a unique phenomenon that occurs in a turbo pump for a liquid, is suppressed or alleviated. In the case of this cavitation-suppressed operation method for the turbo pump, a flow rate on the upstream side and a flow rate on the downstream side of the turbo pump (1) that transfers the liquid are measured and compared. If the flow rate on the upstream side is smaller than the flow rate on the downstream side, the flow speed on the upstream side is accelerated by reducing the pressure at a suction part of the pump, and the flow speed on the downstream side is reduced by reducing the pressure at a discharge part of the pump, and if the flow rate on the downstream side is smaller than the flow rate on the upstream side, the flow speed on the downstream side is accelerated by increasing the pressure at the discharge part of the pump, and the pressure at the suction part of the pump is increased.
