Abstract:
[PROBLEMS] To provide a device and a method for the automatic operation control of a roll coater capable of accurately performing coating at a target film thickness by automatic control. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] This device comprises an automatic control means (19) in which operation control data is stored correspondingly to various types of paints and paints in use, requirements for dilution, sheet material carrying speeds, target film thicknesses, and roll diameters are inputted to determine roll peripheral speed ratio control values corresponding to the sheet material carrying speeds by using the operation control data corresponding to the paints in use and to determine nip pressure control values corresponding to the target film thicknesses based on the roll diameters by using the operation control data, and the roll peripheral speed ratio control values are outputted to rotatingly driving means (17a-17c) and the nip pressure control values are outputted to the nip pressure control means (12a-12c).
