Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a device and method for inhibiting choroidal thinning. [Solution] The problem is solved by a device that is provided with a light source that emits violet light having a wavelength within a range of 360-400 nm, and emits the violet light, thereby inhibiting choroidal thinning. This device may have a control mechanism for controlling the radiation illuminance and irradiation time of the violet light, may be applied to eye diseases selected from among age-related macular degeneration based on blood flow failure or blood flow reduction, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular edema, asthenopia, retinal vascular occlusion, triangular syndrome, central serous chorioretinopathy, retinitis pigmentosa, presbyopia, cataract, and the like, and may be expected to prevent and treat same.
