Abstract:
One preferred embodiment of the present invention provides a device and method for providing information for assisting dementia diagnosis. The device and method for providing information for assisting dementia diagnosis, according to one preferred embodiment of the present invention, is characterized in that a brain MRI image and a brain PET image of a subject being diagnosed are received, and the brain MRI image is segmented into a plurality of regions, and then matched with the brain PET image. Further, respective standardized uptake value ratios (SUVRs) of the segmented regions are derived in the matched image, and respective standard values of the segmented regions are derived, the respective standard values indicating the closeness of the respective SUVRs of the subject being diagnosed to pre-stored respective average SUVR values of an Alzheimer's subject group and respective average SUVR values of a normal person group, of the segmented regions. Then, respective weighted SUVRs of the segmented regions are provided, the respective weighted SUVRs being derived by multiplying the respective SUVRs by the respective standard values of the subject being diagnosed, and dementia diagnosis is carried out by applying the weighted SUVRs to a pre-trained machine learning algorithm, and thus, compared to conventional techniques which simply provide only absolute SUVR values, various information needed for dementia diagnosis may be provided, and the accuracy of dementia diagnosis may be increased.
