Abstract:
Provided is a device for, when a dead short occurs in a load circuit, protecting the load circuit by immediately cutting off only this load circuit. The device comprises an E1 detection circuit (13) for detecting a back electromotive force (E1) induced in common wiring for connecting a plurality of load circuits and a power supply (VB) and an E2 detection circuit (12) for detecting a back electromotive force (E2) induced in part of a load connection wiring for connecting each load circuit.  When the E1 detection circuit (13) detects that the back electromotive force (E1) induced in the common wiring exceeds a predetermined threshold value and the E2 detection circuit (12) detects that the back electromotive force (E2) having the same direction as E1 is induced in the load connection wiring, the relevant load circuit is cut off.  Accordingly, it is possible to immediately cut off this load circuit when a short-circuit accident has occurred.  It is also possible to continuously operate other load circuits.
