Abstract:
Disclosed is a printer (1), comprising a control unit (20), further comprising a function that, with respect to a head unit (10) comprising a plurality of dot generator elements arranged in a linear shape, outputs electricity supply data, which is dot control data, in linear units over a plurality of iterations, and renders a multi-gradient image. The control unit (20) further comprises a thermal head control circuit (60) that supplies a latch signal of each iteration of electricity supply data, together with each iteration of electricity supply data, to the head unit (10); and a mask circuit (70) that deletes the electricity supply data and the latch signal of the current iteration that are supplied to the head unit (10), when the electricity supply data of the current iteration is the same as the electricity supply data of the preceding iteration.
