Abstract:
In a digital key system (19), an authentication device (21) authenticates a digital key (Dk), which is registered in a terminal (18), via short-range wireless communication with the terminal (18). When the digital key (Dk) is authenticated, the authentication device (21) can operate, via communication with a control device (8), an object (2) to be used. A monitoring unit (33) monitors a transmitted radio wave (Sa) from a transmission unit (10) that executes radio wave transmission of the electronic key system (6) under control which is performed by the control device (8). A switching unit (34) switches the operation mode of the authentication device (21) between an activation mode and a low-consumption mode on the basis of a transmission state of the transmitted radio wave (Sa) that is monitored by the monitoring unit (33).
