Abstract:
Discharge lamp, such as a neon sign, a germicidal and tanning lamp, photographic electronic flash and strobe or an arc lamp for industry and A/V projectors, or a gas discharge automotive headlight, for the environment in residences, office buildings, commercial and industrial buildings, streets, vehicles and parking lots. The invention relates to a discharge lamp comprising at least one burner containing a ionisable substance, and multiple electrodes connected to said burner for ionising said substance. The invention also relates to a method for running up such a discharge lamp. The discharge lamp comprises at least one antenna connected to at least one electric conductor for stimulating ignition in said burner, the antenna further being as a heathing wire during lamp run-up.
