Abstract:
This discharge lamp comprises a discharge tube and a pair of electrodes arranged inside the discharge tube. At least one of the electrodes has a heat transferring body inserted into an airtight space formed inside the electrode. The heat transferring body is in a liquid state when the lamp is lit, coagulates after the lamp is turned off, and has a recessed section formed facing the opposite electrode supporting pole side to the electrode tip side. Stress is reduced by the formation of the recessed section.
