Abstract:
A displacement detection device (1) has: an insulating substrate (11); a graphene block (12) which is secured to the largest surface of the insulating substrate (11) and is composed of graphene sheets which are made of a single layer of graphene and laminated in layers; and an electrode (13) of a conductor installed on said surface of the insulating substrate (11). Said surface of the insulating substrate (11) is parallel to the basal plane of each of the plurality of graphene sheets included in the graphene block (12). The graphene block (12) includes a graphene small piece (14) formed from one or a plurality of graphene sheets that slide in a direction parallel to the basal plane when a force having a component parallel to the basal plane is exerted on the graphene sheets. The electrode (13) is installed such that the capacitance of a capacitor formed by the electrode (13) and the graphene small piece (14) changes in accordance with the movement amount of the graphene small piece (14).
