Abstract:
A display apparatus 1 for a vehicle comprises: a housing having an opening opposite to a windshield; an image display device; a mirror by which display light Lt is reflected toward the windshield; and a transparent cover 5 that is disposed in the opening and that transmits the display light Lt therethrough. The cover has an outer surface 51 opposite to the windshield and an inner surface 52 opposite to the mirror, and is bent toward the inside of the housing. The inner surface is a free curved surface formed so as to correct distortion or aberration of an image. The inner surface 52 is shaped such that a color separation angle θ, caused by chromatic aberration, with respect to the display light Lt transmitted through the cover and emitted toward the windshield is set to 1 [mrad] or less.
