Abstract:
The present invention provides: a display device capable of driving, with small power consumption, a driving transistor at the time of displaying an image; and a method for driving the driving transistor. An organic EL display device according to the present invention applies, to a bottom gate electrode 2 of a driving transistor M1 having a double gate structure, a voltage for turning on/off the driving transistor M1, and a data voltage Vdata corresponding to a data signal is applied, as a back gate voltage Vbg, to a top gate electrode 6. Consequently, a voltage value fluctuation range is reduced compared with the cases where the data voltage is applied to the bottom gate electrode 2.
