Abstract:
The purpose of the present embodiment is to provide a display device in which a display unit can be enlarged, and an electronic apparatus incorporating the display device therein. The display device and the electronic apparatus of the present embodiment comprise: a liquid crystal layer (LC); a first substrate (SUB1) comprising a first insulating substrate (10), pixel electrodes (PE) provided between the first insulating substrate and the liquid crystal layer, and first transparent electrodes (TE1) provided between the first insulating substrate and the liquid crystal layer; and a second substrate (SUB2) comprising a second insulating substrate (20), a first organic insulating film (21) that overlaps the pixel electrodes and is provided between the second insulating substrate and the liquid crystal layer, a second organic insulating film (22) provided between the first organic insulating film and the liquid crystal layer, and a second transparent electrode (TE2) that overlaps the first transparent electrodes and is provided between the second insulating substrate and the liquid crystal layer. The first organic insulating film comprises a recess (21C), and the second transparent electrode is provided in the recess.
