Abstract:
In the present invention, a static line determination unit 15 determines whether or not data for one line included in a video signal D1 is a static line. A scanning line drive circuit 13 applies a non-selection voltage to scanning lines GL1-GLm corresponding to the static line. A data line drive circuit 14 does not apply data voltage to data lines SL1-SLn when handling the static line. A similar structure may be applied to a display device in which pixel circuits are divided into a plurality of blocks along a line direction and pixel circuits in the same blocks among pixel circuits on each line are connected to respective scanning lines. As a result, it is possible to provide a display device allowing power consumption to be reduced even when portion of a display image changes.
