Abstract:
The present invention enhances the definition of a display device having a light detection function. This display device has a light-emitting device and a light-receiving and emitting device, wherein: the light-emitting device has a first pixel electrode, a first light-emitting layer and a common electrode; the light emitting and receiving device has a second pixel electrode, a second light-emitting layer, an active layer, and a common electrode; the active layer has an organic compound; the first light-emitting layer is positioned between the first pixel electrode and the common electrode; the second light-emitting layer and the active layer are each positioned between the second pixel electrode and the common electrode; the light-emitting device has a function to emit first color light; and the light receiving and emitting device has a function to emit second color light and a function to receive the first color light. The light receiving and emitting device serves as both a light-emitting device and a light-receiving device, and is thus capable of imparting a light-receiving function to pixels without increasing the number of subpixels included in the pixels. In addition, it is possible to impart a light-receiving function to pixels without decreasing the definition of the display device and the aperture rate of each subpixel.
