Abstract:
A liquid crystal display device (10) is provided with a light-emitting diode (LED) (17); a liquid crystal panel (11); a gate-side flexible substrate (28) connected to one end of the liquid crystal panel (11); a light-conducting plate (16) arranged to overlap the liquid crystal panel (11); an optical member (15) arranged between the liquid crystal panel (11) and the light conducting plate (16); a holding member (HM) having a frame (13) and a chassis (14) for holding the liquid crystal panel (11), an optical member (15), and a light-conducting plate (16) in between; a light-shield member (23A) that blocks the light present further to the outside than the light-shield member (23A) that directly falls incident on an end of the liquid crystal panel (11) and has a gate-side flexible substrate insertion groove (29); and an incident-light control member (30) that is arranged in the gate-side flexible substrate insertion groove (29) provided in the optical member (15) to control the light further to the outside than the light-shield member (23A) that passes through the gate-side flexible substrate insertion groove (29) and falls incident directly on the end of the liquid crystal panel (11).
