Abstract:
This display device is provided with: a first substrate (21) and a second substrate (22) disposed with the inner main surfaces thereof facing each other; a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first substrate (21) and the second substrate (22); a seal material (24) disposed between the first substrate (21) and the second substrate (22) so as to surround the liquid crystal layer and joining the first substrate (21) and the second substrate (22); an organic insulating film (225) provided in a seal forming region (E24) which is located on the inner main surface of the second substrate (22) and in which the seal material (24) is formed, the organic insulating film (225) having an opening (225a) in the seal forming region (E24); and an inorganic insulating film (26) covered with the seal material (24) in such a manner that the seal material (24) are in contact with the inorganic insulating film (26), the inorganic insulating film (26) being provided continuously from the inside of the opening (225a) through the inner wall surface of the opening (225a) to the surface of the organic insulating film (225).
