Abstract:
The present invention provides a display device capable of switching a frame frequency while suppressing the occurrence of flicker. This display device is provided with: a display unit having a common electrode; a drive unit for driving the display unit; and a display control unit for controlling the drive unit, wherein the display control unit performs control for AC driving the display unit, and at the time of switching from a first drive period during which the display unit is driven at a first frame frequency to a second drive period during which the display unit is driven at a second frame frequency different from the first frame frequency, provides, between the first drive period and the second drive period, a transition period including a period during which the display unit is driven at at least one kind of frame frequency that takes a value between the first frame frequency and the second frame frequency, and in the transition period, the total time of a positive polarity period during which the display unit is driven at positive-polarity voltage, and the total time of a negative polarity period during which the display unit is driven at negative-polarity voltage are different.
