Abstract:
Provided is a liquid crystal display device 10 comprising: a liquid crystal panel 11 which includes a CF substrate (first substrate) 11a and an array substrate (second substrate) 11b that is disposed so as to partially overlap the CF substrate; and a touch-panel pattern (functional unit) 20 that is built into the liquid crystal panel 11. A liquid crystal display-use flexible substrate (first flexible substrate) 30 is connected to a CF substrate non-overlapping region 11b2 of the array substrate 11b, and a liquid crystal display-use driver 50 is mounted in such non-overlapping region; and a touch-panel-use flexible substrate (second flexible substrate) 40 is connected to the CF substrate 11a, and a portion of the touch-panel-use flexible substrate 40 is disposed so as to overlap the CF substrate non-overlapping region 11b2 in plan view. In the foregoing configuration, an insulative coating section 31c1 is formed on a portion of the liquid crystal display-use flexible substrate 30 and such coating section is disposed between the liquid crystal display-use driver 50 and the touch-panel-use flexible substrate 40.
