A display module, and a display apparatus which comprises the display module. The display module comprises a backlight module (1), a display substrate (2), a flexible circuit board (3) and a peripheral circuit board (4), wherein the display substrate (2) is located on a light-emergent side (101) of the backlight module (1); the peripheral circuit board (4) is located on the back side (102) of the backlight module (1) that faces away from the light-emergent side (101); and the display substrate (2) is provided with a binding area (100), which is located on an edge of one side of the display substrate (2), and the binding area (100) is bound and connected to the peripheral circuit board (4) by means of the flexible circuit board (3). The display module further comprises an enhanced protection strip (5), which is located on the back side (102) of the backlight module (1) and located on the side of the peripheral circuit board (4) that is close to the backlight module (1), wherein the enhanced protection strip (5) extends through an edge of the backlight module (1) on the side where the binding area (100) is located; and the peripheral circuit board (4) is partially overlapped with the enhanced protection strip (5).
