Abstract:
A display panel (20) and a display device. The display panel (20) comprises a first substrate (21), a second substrate (22), and a liquid crystal layer (23) located between the first substrate (21) and the second substrate (22). A plurality of pixel regions (SPs) is formed on the first substrate (21). The liquid crystal layer (23) comprises liquid crystal molecules (231). A first alignment layer (219) is provided on the side of the first substrate (21) close to the liquid crystal layer (23). A second alignment layer (224) is provided on the side of the second substrate (22) close to the liquid crystal layer (23). A polarizer (223) is provided on the outer side of the second substrate (22), and the polarizer (223) has a light transmission axis (P1). A first alignment direction (X1) of the first alignment layer (219) and a second alignment direction (X2) of the second alignment layer (224) are antiparallel to each other, and are both perpendicular to the direction of the light transmission axis (P1) of the polarizer (223). The liquid crystal layer (23) is doped with quantum rods (232). In each pixel region (SP), the quantum rods (232) having different sizes are mixed with the liquid crystal molecules (231). The liquid crystal molecules (231) are arranged along the first alignment direction (X1) and the second alignment direction (X2). The arrangement direction of the quantum rods (232) is consistent with that of the liquid crystal molecules (231). The quantum rods (232) can convert incident non-polarizing light into linear polarizing light having the same direction as that of the long axes of the quantum rods (232).
