Abstract:
A distal hood 20 includes: a groove 21 which is formed ring-like around the entire circumference at a predetermined location of an outer circumferential surface of the distal hood 20 that is removably mounted on a distal end 6 of an endoscope 2; a protruding part 22 that is provided on one side of the groove 21 and has a tapered surface 22t which has an inner circumferential diameter that continuously increases from the groove 21 toward a hood distal surface 20a such that the thickness of the tapered surface 22t decreases; a latching portion 23 which is provided on the opposite side of the groove 21 from the protruding part 22 and latches onto the distal end 6 of the endoscope 2; and notches 24 which are provided so as to extend from the hood distal surface 20a of the protruding part 22 to the latching portion 23 and divide the protruding part 22 into a plurality of projections 25.
