Abstract:
In an in-vehicle system (100), radio waves which are for ranging and to which a phase shift amount from a reference phase is applied are generated by a transmission process unit (302) in accordance with a generation rule. The phase shift amount includes the case where a phase shift is performed and the case where a value corresponding to the absence of a phase shift is (0). Therefore, in the case where the generation rule is not known, there are difficulties in specifying the reference phase. Even if a third party fraudulently obtains communication between a mobile device (102) and an in-vehicle device (103), using an unauthorized device, the reference phase cannot be identified, because the generation rule is not known. A distance estimation unit (307) estimates distances using a combination of a plurality of frequencies, and adopts an estimated distance when the differences between the plurality of estimated distances are within a predetermined range. Therefore, because the distances are estimated using the phases of the plurality of frequencies, erroneous estimation can be inhibited and the accuracy of estimation can be improved.
