Abstract:
The invention relates to a distance measuring device for motor vehicles (1), in particular vans and estate cars with which precise detection of the distance between a motor vehicle (1) and an obstacle is made easily possible even when the tailgate (2) is open. A distance-measuring device according to the invention has for this purpose at least one distance-detection means (4) for detecting a distance between the motor vehicle (1) and an obstacle which is located in the potential movement range thereof. The distance-detection means is for this purpose arranged on a tailgate (2) of a motor vehicle (1) of the generic type.
