Abstract:
The present invention provides a double-ended countercurrent refrigeration system for a superconducting cable, the superconducting cable comprising a low-temperature Dewar tube and an electrified conductor provided in an inner cavity of the low-temperature Dewar tube. The system comprises: a first liquid nitrogen passage provided in the inner cavity of the energized conductor; a second liquid nitrogen passage provided between the low-temperature Dewar tube and the energized conductor, the first liquid nitrogen passage being communicated with the second liquid nitrogen passage at a position close to one end of the superconducting cable; a first refrigeration system provided at one end of the superconducting cable; and a second refrigeration system provided at one end of the superconducting cable, the first refrigeration system delivering the liquid nitrogen into the first liquid nitrogen passage by means of a first cooling pipe, the liquid nitrogen flowing through the first liquid nitrogen passage and then being delivered to the second refrigeration system to perform cooling, and after cooling, the liquid nitrogen being delivered into the second liquid nitrogen passage and then flowing back from the second liquid nitrogen passage to the first refrigeration system to perform cooling. The refrigeration system of the present invention has a simple structure and enables the superconducting cable to operate in a suitable liquid helium temperature range.
