Abstract:
Provided is a method for transmitting downlink reference signals that can solve a problem of coexistence of LTE-Advanced user equipment and LTE user equipment in a next-generation wireless communication system.  The method comprises the steps of: dividing a system bandwidth into a plurality of fundamental bandwidths, defining at least one fundamental bandwidth compatible with LTE and notifying, by use of a broadcast signal, an arrangement of the fundamental bandwidths to user equipment; dividing a system resource block into an LTE resource block and an LTE-Advanced resource block by FDM division or by a combination of FDM division and resource reservation; allocating, based on a scheduling algorithm, the resources of the resource blocks to the LTE and LTE-Advanced user equipment and inserting different reference signals into the respective resource blocks in accordance with the types of the user equipment and the types of the allocated resource blocks; and transmitting the scheduled resource blocks and notifying the types of the scheduled resource blocks to the user equipment via the control channel of a physical downlink or an upper layer signaling.  The present invention can solve the problem of coexistence of LTE-Advanced user equipment and LTE user equipment in the next-generation wireless communication system in that the control signaling information amount is less, the flexibility of achievement is higher, the compatibility with the structure of LTE system (Release 8) is achieved.  Also, a base station, user equipment and a wireless communication system are provided.
