Abstract:
[Problem] In a drill with a coating layer for covering the cutting edge thereof, there was a possibility that the coating layer would come off with repeated use of the drill.
[Solution] A drill (1) provided with: a rod-shaped body section (3) which is rotated about a rotational axis (X); a cutting edge (5) which is located at the tip of the body section (3) and extends from the outer periphery of the body section (3) toward the rotational axis (X) when seen from the tip; a flank face (7) which is located at the tip and disposed along the cutting edge (5); a coating layer (11) which covers at least the tip of the body section (3); and one or more recessed parts (13) which are disposed on the flank face (7) at positions close to the cutting edge (5).
