Abstract:
This wavelength conversion element (100) for infrared or terahertz wave waves, which generates infrared or terahertz waves in a wide range of wavelengths, is provided with a laminated body (10) obtained by integrating a plurality of flat crystal sheets (12A, 12B) of ZnSe. The plurality of flat crystal sheets (12A, 12B) of the laminated body are arranged such that the flat crystal sheets (12A) of ZnSe oriented with a first crystal orientation and the flat crystal sheets (12B) of ZnSe oriented with a second crystal orientation are arranged so as to be lined up alternately. The orientation of the second crystal orientation differs from that of the first crystal orientation. The present invention also provides a method for manufacturing the wavelength conversion element and a light source using the wavelength conversion element.
