Disclosed is a drive apparatus for a vehicle comprising a dynamo-electrical machine, a transmission mechanism, and an inverter device. The dynamo-electrical machine and a pair of output members have a biaxial configuration, and the transmission mechanism has an output gear that is drivably connected to the output members and is provided coaxially with the output members. A first output member, which is one of the pair of output members, is disposed horizontally between the dynamo-electrical machine and the inverter device at a vertical position where both the dynamo-electrical machine and the inverter device are disposed. The output gear overlaps both the dynamo-electrical machine and the inverter device when viewed in the axial direction. The inverter device is disposed on the upper part of the first output member, on the side of the first output member that is opposite from the dynamo-electrical machine. A case has a peripheral wall part that partitions between the first output member and the inverter device. The peripheral wall part overlaps the output gear when viewed in the axial direction.
