Abstract:
The present invention minimizes variation in voltage, current pulse, and the like on the direct current side of an inverter and achieves a reduction of the capacity of a smoothing capacitor on the direct current side. The present invention relates to a drive device for a rotary electric machine that controls the driving of an alternating-current rotary electric machine. An inverter control unit that controls the switching of a switching element of the inverter sets a switching frequency (fc) to a value that varies according to the torque and the rotational speed of the rotary electric machine in accordance with the pulse width of a system voltage that is the voltage of the direct current side of the inverter and the pulse width of a power supply current that is the current that flows through a direct current power supply.
